Code of Conduct
Are you a dad, or maybe just feeling paternal? Would you like to make a difference in the life of another person via emotional support and teaching life skills? We would love for you to join us at a Dads Hug Too event. Here are a few things you must know as you become involved.
- Dads Hug Too accepts, respects and affirms all members of the LGBTQ+ community.
- Dads Hug Too expects anyone representing our organization to be non-discriminatory and to conduct themselves ethically.
- Dads Hug Too is working towards non-profit status and therefore we cannot as an organization endorse, condone or condemn any political candidate or politician. Please avoid any social media posts and/or photos of a political nature while representing Dads Hug Too.
- Regarding social media posts, never post a photo or video with an LGBTQ+ person without consent. Avoid the use of any profanity in posts connected with Dads Hug Too.
- Please respect people’s personal space and boundaries. Sometimes a high five, a fist bump or even a smile is preferred to a hug. ALWAYS ASK before making any physical contact.
- Using correct pronouns is extremely important. Be aware of any person’s preferred pronouns and respect their choice. If you don’t know, please ask.
- Dads Hug Too is not responsible for any interactions outside of our events. Sharing personal contact information is at your own discretion and risk.
- As a reminder, most of us are not mental health professionals, so if you connect with someone please make sure you’re protecting yourself and the person whom you are attempting to help.
- While representing Dads Hug Too, we will be held harmless for any damage to your person or property.
- Please follow all federal, state and local laws and ordinances when participating in Dads Hug Too events. We will not be held responsible for any illegal and/or criminal activities while you represent our organization.
- Participation equals acceptance of these policies.
